Update Fashion Trend : Crochet
From the old baby blanket you now use as a throw, to the eerie hand tied owl that hung on your parents wall, there is no doubt that you will more than likely find macramé and crochet to be somewhat nostalgic. Minus the crafty, homemade look, both macramé and crochet have made a huge comeback and are a huge fashion trend for 2011. This time around though, the '70's inspired look is all about luxuriously intricate pieces with edgy fabrication as seen during 2011 fashion week. Models paraded down the catwalk showcasing key looks by designers such as Salvatore Ferragamo,Gucci and Catherine Malandrino wearing macramé and crochet styles in various silhouettes of everything from swimwear to shoes handbags and accessories. Like moths to flames, celeb fashionistas such as Vanessa Hudgens, Kate Bosworth,Rihanna, Selena Gomez, Olivia Wilde and v.v.. were drawn to macramé and crochet constructed pieces and have already been spotted rocking ingeniously designed duds in their own respective styles. For the most part, designers have kept the colors and tones natural and light, especially in macramé stitched pieces, making it easy to pair with most swimwear or to be worn alone. Why we love it? The look, although retro, is a refreshing yet unique spin off the normal summer styles. Ready to rock this 70's hippie trend?
